Hawaiian Monk Seal

October 17, 10:00am-1:00pm — Have you ever been lucky enough to see a Hawaiian monk seal? Well, here’s your chance to participate in a statewide research project to help protect these critically endangered creatures. Volunteers on every island will be checking their coastlines during the Sixth Semi-Annual Hawaiian Islands Monk Seal Count this Saturday. C’mon out and find some seals! On Maui, sign up for your favorite area by contacting Nicole Davis at (she can also direct you to the other island coordinators).
